ABOUT Jak Wonderly:

Jak Wonderly is an award-winning outdoor commercial photographer, represented by National Geographic Image Collection.

He specializes in building marketing image portfolios for businesses of all sizes, from small family-run businesses to $100m national brands. Client List

Jak’s images have been described as warm, earthy, soulful, and genuine, with an ethereal sense of light. He is honored by the clients that entrust the perception of their brand to his eye and style.

His work has been featured in numerous national and international magazines. Jak worked as animal photographer for The National Geographic Society; his images have have been published in their magazine and in more than 20 NGS books.

Jak supports select non-profit organizations through his photography, helping raise awareness and funds.  He is currently working with the Snow Leopard Conservancy, and undertook a photo expedition to India to find and photograph snow leopards in the Himalayas.

He has also been a photography tour leader for wildlife trips around the globe.

Jak strives to manage layout and composition, the appearance of the subject, story ideas, the position and quality of the light, camera settings, and a load of gear - all while looking through a viewfinder and balancing on a ladder. It’s a complex and physical job, and he thrives on that challenge. He enjoys working on farms, around animals, in vineyards – anywhere he can get his boots dirty and break a sweat. He has been chased by a bull, plowed over by a pig, fallen into whitewater, hung out of an airplane, and waded through swamps to create images.

That he gets paid for this never ceases to amaze him.

Jak travels regularly for both business and pleasure, and brings back intimate portraits of wildlife and timeless images of his destinations.
